CRYPTOTYPE-9: UI Frames & Phantom Interface Elements from the Lost Devkit
A downloadable Asset Pack
“All that remains of a console that never passed certification—six frame glyphs and three corrupted readouts, encoded in 16-bit static and divine intention.”
CRYPTOTYPE-9 is a minimalist pixel asset pack scavenged from the wreckage of a console RPG that was either canceled in 1998… or never officially existed. The files were found on an abandoned FTP backup labeled “/final_UI/psychic_cardgrid/battlezone/test9”.
Included are:
- 6 modular card UI frames—aligned to a forgotten logic. Each one calibrated for summoning rituals, inventory interfaces, or psychic hardware menus.
- 3 arcane icons—rendered in 16x16, these files resist categorization. They may represent spells, classes, units, fragments, or corrupted effects.
- Transparent PNGs, sized for pixel grid integration and easily color-swappable.
- Bonus: layered front + back textures for full card assembly or interactive flip-state mechanics.
Intended Uses:
- Tactical deckbuilders & experimental card interfaces
- Inventory menus for spiritual sci-fi RPGs
- Fake emulators, ARGs, or liminal UI environments
- Mystery-genre worldbuilding systems where “inspect” is never safe
Design Aesthetic:
Dead console UI. Retro-anachronistic. Humming with forgotten syntax. Looks like something you dreamt as a child but only half-remember.
